Being Grateful // On My Mind Monday
“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
This weekend was Easter and it was the first time I spent it away from my parents and siblings. I did, however, spend it with Caleb’s family and it was a wonderful weekend. After a remarkable meal (Thank you Kris) and a few rounds of QUIXX, we all sat on the couch and relaxed.
Before dozing off, I paused and reflected on how wonderful my life is. My initial thoughts were, “I am so lucky to have such an incredible husband, a loving family, supportive friends & clients. I know I would not be where I am today without them, and I truly need to make it a habit to spend quality time with the people who matter most. I am so thankful and should work to show more gratitude and appreciation.”
After a food & fun-filled Sunday at Caleb’s parent’s home, I realized it doesn’t need to be a Holiday for me to take time to think about all I am grateful for. The feel-good-feelings from Holidays come and go, but my attentiveness to gratitude can allow me to be fully present in every moment. I need to be more attentive to all I am grateful for, things big and small.
Gratitude makes me happier and more optimistic, and today, I am sharing a few simple questions and answers I jotted down to help me continue to feel the overwhelming happiness I felt when I was surrounded by family this Sunday:
- Two Places I am Grateful For:
- Two Foods I am Grateful For:
- Two Positive Body + Mind things I am Grateful For:
- Two Choices I’ve Made that I am Grateful For:
- Two Forms of Expression I am Grateful For:
- Two Sounds I am Grateful For:
