The Best Wisconsin Outdoor Wedding Venues
What can be more beautiful than an outdoor Wisconsin wedding? From rustic barns to rolling landscapes by the water, Wisconsin has some of the best outdoor wedding venues. Here are some of my favorites:
The Landing 1841
From a Native American gathering place to the art studio of world-renowned artist and peace activist, Matt Lamb, The Landing 1841 has hosted a number of special people. Though no longer home to runaway slaves or dairy cows, this picturesque barn–located along the banks of the White River in Burlington–is now the perfect place for your outdoor wedding. Indoor and outdoor facilities can accommodate up to 200 guests, and air conditioning and heating ensure that you and your loved ones are comfortable all year round.
Farm at Dover
Another beautiful barn to choose for your outdoor wedding, The Farm at Dover offers a variety of backdrops for your special day. With three ceremony areas, three gardens, and a barn that can seat 160 guests, you know you’ll get some unique photo opportunities. And to top off an already gorgeous location, the property also has a Victorian house that can be rented for use before the wedding, including overnight accommodations. Definitely a hidden gem of Dover.
Ramhorn Farm
Ramhorn Farm is now available as an event venue for those seeking the timeless splendor of a European Farmstead, right here in southeastern Wisconsin. Beautiful European Charmed Farm tucked away 25 minutes from Milwaukee with amazing manicured gardens and large fields. A pond for your wedding photos or a beautiful backdrop for your ceremony. You will be welcomed by a courtyard with endless opportunities for the ceremony, receptions, and even dinner. A stone barn sits further back on the property with trails to lead you to seat up to your 100 guests for dinner.
Over the Vines
Over the Vines has no ordinary barn–they have a wine barn! Located in Edgerton, Over the Vines is the only wedding venue in the area with an on-site vineyard. Licensed bartenders are provided to serve some of their signature wines to up to 200 guests.
Barn at Harvest Moon Pond
For a more traditional barn wedding, check out Barn at Harvest Moon Pond in Poynette. With an 1800’s old English post and beam barn, your 250 guests will feel like they’re stepping back in time. Don’t worry, though–you won’t find any cows or tractors in this barn. Just chandeliers and a large hickory and stone fireplace.
The Rustic Barn at Prairie Gardens
The Richter family is happy to invite you to their home for your special day. After much loving restoration, Tim and Renee’ Richter hosted several of their own parties in The Rustic Barn at Prairie Gardens before welcoming others to their farm located just outside of Burlington. Now you and up to 200 guests can enjoy this beautiful red barn and feel like part of the family.
Woodwalk Gallery
To wrap up our favorite barns, we’ve got Woodwalk Gallery in Egg Harbor. As the name suggests, the primary purpose of this venue is to showcase art, but all the beautiful sculptures and paintings only make your wedding more special. After the ceremony, your 300 guests can enjoy trails and gardens lined with sculptures, and the historic barn is a great place to reconvene for the reception.
Birch MKE
Birch MKE has a rustic yet refined classic feel incorporating the elegance your wedding deserves. The space incorporates beautiful modern touches, rustic wood, and floor to ceiling windows overlooking our gardens. The outdoor area is beautiful for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and even your evening dance party!
Whistling Straights
The Whistling Straights is more than just a fancy golf course. Spanning two miles of Lake Michigan’s cost in Sheboygan, this venue will have you feeling like you’re in the Irish countryside. With structures like the Irish Barn and Championship Locker Room Terrace for your ceremony and reception, you and your 120 guests will never be out of sight of the rolling hills and seemingly endless lake.
Milford Hills Hunt Club
Located in Johnson Creek, Milford Hills Hunt Club is perfect for your sophisticated outdoor wedding. After a ceremony under the arbor overlooking the water, you and 200 guests can enjoy a decadent meal in The Main Dining Room. If you’re looking for a more intimate wedding, you and 75 guests can savor each bite in The Hideaway. And boys–three different bachelor party packages are available!
Schlitz Audubon Nature Center
If you’ve ever dreamed of having doves released during your wedding ceremony, Schlitz Audubon Nature Center–located in Milwaukee–may be the perfect venue for you. While they don’t have any actual doves, you can request the attendance of owls, eagles, hawks, and other birds of prey through their Raptor Program. These feathered friends make for a memorable night for you and your 225 guests.
Camp Wandawega
If you’re looking for something a little different for your wedding, Camp Wandawega is a place to check out! You and up to 125 guests can rent out this nearly one-hundred-year-old campground in Elkhorn, and “experience the simple pleasures of simpler times.” You’ll have access to fire pits, cabins, the lakeshore, and even an archery range, and you get to choose exactly how you want to spend your special day.
