Hey friends! Ren here with a little heart-to-heart for You!
My adventures as a business owner started with a camera and a dream.
After college, my friends scattered to work in different corporate jobs. I was so happy to see everyone finding the beginning to their new chapter.
While I could have stayed on the corporate route, I quit just after 8 months. I packed up & moved back to MKE from Washington DC to pursue my photography business because I knew that I wanted and NEEDED something different for myself.
Most of the time, I have people asking me about my success as a business owner. How did I do it? What are my secrets?
I was chatting with a friend recently who said she was afraid to start a business because she DIDN’T want to be like me. Specifically, working all the time. Not knowing when to stop and/or not being able to “turn it off.”
I admit, it really stuck with me. But that’s because… IT’S 100% TRUE. #TranspaRENcy
I’d be a liar if I didn’t admit that most of the time, I work like a dog. But, since we’re being honest here, my dogs work the least of anyone in the house.
Truthfully, my business burns me out sometimes. Actually, I burn myself out sometimes in the go-go-go of life.
But burnout isn’t a requirement or a necessity of business ownership.
It wasn’t until this past year that I started committing to not only creating financial abundance, but time and energy abundance in my life/business as well. Through working with business coaches, taking weekly online courses, and attending business retreats I’ve realized that I can always make more money, but I can never make back lost time. I’ve learned the value of enjoying life outside of work and how to work smarter, not harder.
Which is why, I am committed to shooting only TEN weddings for 2020 (and they’re already filling up).
Because, I know that is what I want and NEED something different for myself and Caleb at this point in our lives.
If Caleb and Me are on your must-have wedding list for 2020, send us an email now to get us booked for your big day!
In lieu of photographing so many weddings, I will be working full-time, continuing to do hundreds of family sessions, along with more commercial and brand photography work.

I will also continue working on my lifestyle blog which has exponentially become more than just a passion project. I will also be mentoring other creatives and co-hosting business retreats and a mastermind for women entrepreneurs in 2020.
Caleb and I plan to travel, explore milwaukee, do more home DIY projects, and enjoy each other’s company.
Good for you girl! So proud of you and all of your accomplishments!
